• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police. On 30/07/2008 at 0920 hrs at Madva Kavalapadoor village Bantwal Taluk one driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-16-A-8506 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2050 driven by Neelayya. As a result 4 passengers who were traveling in the said KSRTC bus sustained simple injuries.

On 30/07/2008 at 1000 hrs on credible information PSI Lottery and Excise detention squad Mangalore along with staff conducted a raid on open place at Panikadady Kenjaru village Mangalore Taluk and seized 02 cans of illegal arrack (05 liters) of worth Rs. 2000/ by arresting Arun D Souza (35) R/o Vidyanagara Panjimogaru village Manngalore Taluk who was selling these arrack illegally there.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Urwa Police Station. In between 29/07/2008 at 2330 hrs and 30/07/2008 at 0645 hrs one Thungamma (65) R/o Kodikal Mangalore committed suicide by jumping into the well near her house owing to personal problem.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 22/07/2008 at 0830 hrs one Vanaja Shetty (60) R/o Kondana Kotekaru village Mangalore Taluk accidentally got serious burn injuries while lighting a kerosene lamp in her house and she was admitted to Fr. Muller hospital at Mangalore where she succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on 30/07/2008 at 1700 hrs.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. In between 28/07/2008 and 30/07/2008 at 0700 hrs one Chandrashekara (30) R/o Kandavara village Mangalore Taluk accidentally slipped into the Gurupura river at Kallakalemby Muloor village Mangalore Taluk while walking and died by drowning.

On 29/07/2008 at 1730 hrs on credible information PSI Uppinangady along with staff conducted a raid on open place at Panekallu Bandaru village Puttur Taluk and seized 24 liquor bottles (each 180 ML) of worth Rs. 900/ by arresting Adappa (44) and Mancha Mugera (40) who were selling these liquor bottles illegally there.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Sullia Police Station. In between 28/07/2008 at 1800 hrs and 29/07/2008 at 0815 hrs one Santhosh (30) R/o Kerala State accidentally slipped into the Sampaje river while taking bath at Sampaje village Sullia Taluk and died due drawing.

illegally liquor Seized by Ullal Police

On 28/07/2008 at 1630 hrs on credible information PSI (Crime) Ullal PS along with his staff intercepted a Scorpio car bearing Reg. No. GJ-3-BA-303 at Sankolige Someshwara village Mangalore Taluk and seized 37 Boxes of liquor bottles (each 180 ML) transported illegally. However accused Santhosh and other one person managed to escape from the place. The Scorpio car has also been seized. Total worth of illegal liquor bottles seized is Rs. 50, 000/ and value of Scorpio car is Rs. 6,00,000/.

In this connection, a case has been registered in Ullal PS under Karnataka Excise Act.

On 28/07/2008 at 1800 hrs accused one Hithakara Moily R/o Kodyadka Puthige village Mangalore Taluk criminally restrained one 25 yrs old girl R/o Obbettu Mitthabailu Putthige village Mangalore Taluk near Nagabana at Mitthabailu Putthige village Mangalore Taluk and assaulted her by hand and forcibly raped her and also gave life threat to her.

On 28/07/2008 at 1000 hrs at Rangapade Neerumarga village Mangalore Taluk one Imthiyaz driver of Tipper lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-8839 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which lorry capsized. As a result lorry driver Imthiyaz and Lava loader of said lorry sustained serious injuries. Further Lava was succumbed to his injuries while on the way to hospital.

No. KA-19-M-2588 driven by one Prakasha (29) R/o Moodanadugodu village Bantwal Taluk. As a result Maruti Omni car got damaged. No casualities reported.

No. KA-19-E-5100 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Sheik Asif (22) R/o Kavalkatte Bantwal Taluk a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries. • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 24/07/2008 at 1330 hrs on Kudroli Market road at Mangalore one unknown driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-30-1599 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an Active Honda scooter bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Q-2712. As a result Active Honda scooter rider Mukesh (36) R/o Falnir Mangalore and Bhoshan Rai pillion rider of said scooter sustained grievous injuries. The lorry driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

On 25/07/2008 at 1230 hrs on College cross road at Gandhinagara Kavoor Mangalore one Dayananda driver of bus bearing Reg. • A case of Gambling under Karnataka Police Act has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 25/07/2008 at 1600 hrs on credible information PSI Sullia along with staff conducted a raid on open place at Narkodu Aletty village Sullia Taluk. At the time of raid Police found 08 persons playing “Ander- Bahar” with cards. The Police seized cash Rs. 5, 030/ and playing cards from the spot by arresting Rajesh, Prabhakar and Hukrappa who were indulged in gambling. However other 5 persons managed to escape from the scene.

On 25/07/2007 at 1030 hrs one Ramadas Shet (49) R/o Kashi Sadana Dongarakeri Mangalore sustianed serious electric shock while operating electric pump near his house. Further he was admitted to Yenepoya Hospital at Mangalore where he declared dead while under treatment on same day 1115 hrs.

Rectified Spirit Seized by Konaje Police

On 25/07/2008 at 1000 hrs on credible information PSI Konaje PS along with his staff intercepted a Scorpio car at New Padpu junction Harekala village Mangalore Taluk and seized 5 cans (each 35 Lts) rectified spirit being transported illegally. However accused one Mohandas Shetty driver of said car managed to escape from the place. The Scorpio car has also been seized. Total worth of rectified spirit seized is Rs. 8,750/ and value of Scorpio car is Rs. 5,00,000/.

In this connection, a case has been registered in Konaje PS under Karnataka Excise Act.

Raman Nagara Bangalore, which was kept inside the KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-01-F-8331 that was parked in the premises of KSRTC bus stand at Bejai Mangalore.

On 24/07/2008 at 0400 hrs Crime PSI Mangalore South PS apprehended one Harisha @ Ganesh Poojary (29) R/o Kuppe Padavu Mangalore who was found moving suspiciously on a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KL-11-N-6332 near Railway Gate at Mahakalipadpu Mangalore. On enquiry it was learnt that the said motorcycle has been stolen somewhere else. Accordingly a case was registered in Mangalore South PS.

• A case of MV Theft has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 18/07/2008 in between 1230 hrs and 1330 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-S-5058 belonging to one Yaqoob (50) R/o Iddya village Mangalore Taluk that was parked in front of Madhusudana D Kushe Hall at Attavara Mangalore. The motorcycle is worth Rs. 31,000/.

As a result motorcycle rider Harish (42) and Ravindra Acharya (37) R/o Katipalla village Mangalore Taluk pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained serious injuries. Further Harish was succumbed to his injuries while on the way to hospital.

The case handed over to Ullal Police for conducting further investigation.

No. GA-01-U-2924 from behind due which Tipper lorry moved ahead and dashed against a LPG Tanker bearing Reg. No. KA-01-AA-9330. Further the driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-25-B-8745 lost control over his vehicle due which lorry capsized. As a result driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-25-B-8745 and cleaner of said lorry sustained simple injuries.

In the complaint it is alleged that accused Sandeep Kundar (husband) R/o Daddalkad Ashokanagara Mangalore gave physical and mental harassment to Asha Kiran V. to bring more dowry and he also gave life threat to him.

(24) R/o Kambibane village Madikeri Taluk Kodagu District and seized sandal wood worth Rs. 12,000/ from his possession.

• A case under Karnatka Excise Act has been registered in Subramanya Police Station. On 17/07/2008 at 1845 hrs on credible information PSI Subramanya PS along with staff conducted a raid at Golikatte Pambethady village Belthangady Taluk and seized 28 liquor bottles (each 180 ml) worth Rs.886/. by arresting one Padmayya Gowda (43) R/o Pambethady village Belthangady Taluk who was selling these liquor bottle illegally there.

• A case of Girl missing has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. One Mohini D/o Giriyappa Poojary R/o Mogru village Belthangady Taluk left her house. On 05/07/2008 at 0900 hrs and did not return her house there after. She has been found missing since then.

• A case of Robbery has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 16/07/2008 at 2105 hrs accused 4 unknown persons came in a Maruti car bearing Reg. KA-19-M-7749 and stopped one Eshwara (35) R/o Bendoor West Mumabai State near Adarsha Lodge at Market road Mangalore and assaulted him with wooden stick and they also robbed gold ornaments from his bag. Further they run away from the spot on from there car. The total value of property robbed away is estimated to be Rs.19, 00,000/.

• A case of Fatal road accident has been registered in Bantwal Town on where in one Harish Naik declared dead while under treatment on 16/07/2008 at 0800 hrs. The said Harish Naik was seriously injured by a KSRTC bus in a road traffic accident on 13/03/2008 at 1700 hrs at Krishna Kodi Golthamajalu village Bantwal Taluk and admitted to the Govt Hospital at Bantwal Town. In this connection a case has been already registered in Bantwal Town Police Station.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 15/07/2008 at 1110 hrs on NH 17 at Kottara Chowki Mangalore one driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-AC-6189 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and applied break suddenly due which John D’Souza (40) R/o Karnadu village Mangalore Taluk who was traveling in the said bus got thrown out from bus and sustained simple injuries.

No. KA-37-A-6606 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a jeep bearing Reg. No. KA-21-M-52. As a result jeep driver Shambhu and Basheer (35) R/o Beliyoor village Bantwal Taluk and 3 other female passengers who were traveling in the said jeep sustained grievous injuries.
