On 25/07/2008 at 1000 hrs on credible information PSI Konaje PS along with his staff intercepted a Scorpio car at New Padpu junction Harekala village Mangalore Taluk and seized 5 cans (each 35 Lts) rectified spirit being transported illegally. However accused one Mohandas Shetty driver of said car managed to escape from the place. The Scorpio car has also been seized. Total worth of rectified spirit seized is Rs. 8,750/ and value of Scorpio car is Rs. 5,00,000/.
In this connection, a case has been registered in Konaje PS under Karnataka Excise Act.
