- A case of MV Theft has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. In between 16/07/2008 at 2100 hrs and 17/07/2008 at 0600 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of a Tipper lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-04-95 belonging to one Keshava Naik (48) R/o Puttur Town that was parked near Suresh Towers at Thenkila Bypass Puttur Town. The Tipper lorry is worth Rs. 4,00,000/.

- A case under Cruelty by Husband and his relatives along with Dowry Prohibition Act has been registered in Women Police Station on the complaint of one Ramya K. R/o Gowri Mutt Mangalore. In the complaint it is alleged that accused Rajesh K.R. (husband) and his relatives Rajagopala, Rajalaxmi, Udayalaxmi and Manjula gave physical and mental harassment to Ramya K. to bring more dowry.

No. KA-19-AD-6444 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an Active Honda scooter bearing Reg. No. KA-19-W-5348. As a result scooter rider one Vijaya Samani (32) R/o Peruvai village Bantwal Taluk sustained simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 17/07/2008 at 0745 hrs near Mangala Nursing Home at Mangalore one driver of Maruti car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-P-437 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. CNG-4055. As a result auto rickshaw driver one Peter D’Souza (55) R/o Kunjatthur Kerala State sustained simple injuries.

On 17/07/2008 at 1500 hrs near Kerekatte at Dharmasthala village Belthangady Taluk one driver of Ambassador car bearing Reg. No. CTJ-4717 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Nanjamma a pedestrian and caused her simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal accident has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 17/07/2008 at 1445 hrs at Gandhi Nagara Uppinangady village Puttur Taluk one driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-7009 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-H-3131. As a result motorcycle rider one Vinod sustained grievous injuries.

On 17/07/2008 at 1430 hrs near bus stand at Sullia Town, PSI Sullia along with staff on credible information apprehended one Ashraf V. (24) R/o Kambibane village Madikeri Taluk Kodagu District and seized sandal wood worth Rs. 12,000/ from his possession.
- A case under Karnatka Excise Act has been registered in Subramanya Police Station. On 17/07/2008 at 1845 hrs on credible information PSI Subramanya PS along with staff conducted a raid at Golikatte Pambethady village Belthangady Taluk and seized 28 liquor bottles (each 180 ml) worth Rs.886/. by arresting one Padmayya Gowda (43) R/o Pambethady village Belthangady Taluk who was selling these liquor bottle illegally there.

- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 17/07/2008 in between 0900 hrs and 2200 hrs one Naveen D Souza (31) R/o Shankarakodi Bantwal Town committed suicide by hanging near his house owing to personal problem.

- A case of Girl missing has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. One Mohini D/o Giriyappa Poojary R/o Mogru village Belthangady Taluk left her house. On 05/07/2008 at 0900 hrs and did not return her house there after. She has been found missing since then.
