- A case of Burglary has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. In between 17/07/2008 at 2000 hrs and 18/07/2008 at 0630 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the Sri Bhadrakhali Doomavathi Temple at Kudroli Mangalore by breaking the front door lock and committed theft of cash Rs. 4,000/ by breaking the Kanike Hundi.

- A case under Outraging the modesty of woman along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 17/07/2008 at 1245 hrs one Susheela (15) R/o Keremoole Chikkamudnoor village Puttur Taluk was on her way to home by walk. At that time accused Shakeer and Shahil tried to outrage her modesty by pulling her hand and also gave life threat to her.

- A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 17/07/2008 at 2230 hrs on NH 48 at Pudu village Bantwal Taluk one unknown vehicle driver drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Hasan Kutty @ Ali a pedestrain and caused him serious injuries. Further he was succumbed to his injuries while on the way to hospital. The unknown vehicle driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 18/07/2008 at 1600 hrs near Jain High school at Moodabidre Town one rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-L-2216 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Apeksha A. Jain a pedestrian and caused her grievous injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Subramanya Police Station. On 17/07/2008 at 1845 hrs at Panja Ivathoklu village Sullia Taluk one Jagadisha driver of jeep bearing Reg. No. KA-21-M-4884 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-K-9386. As a result motorcycle rider Monappa Gowda (30) R/o Pambetthady village Sullia Taluk and Dinesha pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained grievous injuries.

- A case under Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 17/07/2008 at 2105 hrs accused Pavan, Prashanth and Abdulla criminally retrained one Wilson Joseph (26) R/o Manjeshwara Kasaragod District Kerala State near Karavali circle at Kankanady Mangalore and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and also gave life threat to him. The motive seems to be dispute over timing of the bus routes.
