On 13/06/2009 at 2200 hrs on specific information PSI (L&O) Surathkal PS along with staff conducted raid on Sharada Recreation Club at Idya village Mangalore Taluk. At the time of raid Police found 21 persons playing “Ander - Bahar” with cards. Police seized cash Rs. 34,071/, playing cards and 11 Mobile Phones from the spot by arresting Bhaskar Shetty (39), Lingappa Poojary (50), Mosa (54), Umarabba, Praveen Kumar, Raju (36), Mohammed Musthafa (33), Veeresha (23) Krisha Shetty (56), Rama (38), Raghunatha (28), Zubair (38), Yadava Suvarna (42), Abdul Khadar (43), Ashoka Shetty (38), Ramesha (50), Sukumara (40), Navaz (29), Prakash (32), Vishwanatha (45) and Kamaraja (42) who were indulging in gambling.
In this connection, a case has been registered against the arrested persons in Surathkal PS U/s 79, 80 of the Karnataka Police Act
