- A case under Robbery has been registered in Barke Police Station relating to an incident of chain snatching. On 08/03/2009 at 1800 hrs on PVS-Kalakunja road at Kodialbail Mangalore one Bhanumathi V. Shetty (51) R/o Kodialbail Mangalore was on her way to home. At that time accused Arun Rego R/o Indira colony Neermarga Mangalore and Roy @ Rayappa came in a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Q-3027 near her and snatched the gold chain from her neck and while accused were trying to escape from the place Arun Rego was caught by the public and handed over to the Barke PS. However Roy @ Rayappa escaped from the place in the same motorcycle. The value of chain is around Rs.30, 000/.

- A case of Burglary has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. In between 1800 hrs of 07/03/2009 and 1600 hrs of 08/03/2009 some unknown culprits gained entry into the Om Enterprises shop at 3rd floor Kunil Centre Hampankatte Mangalore belonging to one Maneesh Kumar Pajwani (47) R/o Falnir Mangalore by breaking the shetter lock and committed a theft of cash. Rs. 3,00,000/.

- A case of Ordinary Theft has been registered in Panambur Police Station. In between 1530 hrs and 1800 hrs of 08/03/2009 some unknown culprits committed a theft of mobile phones (05) and cash Rs. 25,000/ that was kept inside the car bearing Reg. No. KA-03-MF-742 belonging to one Reven Noel (26) R/o Madivala Bengalooru which was parked in front of Sun rise hotel at Panambur Mangalore. The value of stolen property Rs.45, 000/.

On 07/03/2009 at 2330 hrs accused Bharath Kumar and other 10 to 15 persons forming into unlawful assembly and criminally trespassed into the premises of house belonging to one Malathi (45) R/o Vaidyanatha Nagara Atthavara Mangalore and abused her in filthy language and assaulted her with stone and also gave life threat to her owing to civil dispute between them.
- A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Mischief of causing damage along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 07/03/2009 at 2230 hrs accused Umesha, Ganesh and Amuna abused one Lalitha Lawrence D’ Souza (49) R/o Janatha colony Mupperya village Sullia Taluk in filthy language near her house and damaged the roof tiles of the house by pelting stones and also gave life threat to her owing to trivial issue.

- A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 08/03/2009 at 2200 hrs on NH 13 at Kesarugadde Beluvai village Mangalore Taluk one Sheakar Kumar driver of Ambassador car bearing Reg. No. KA-20-6653 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-20-L-6030. As a result motorcycle rider Ganesh Pai sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. Further Ambassador car driver drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against another motorcycle at Beluvai Mangalore Taluk driven by one Seetharam and caused him grievous injuries. The Ambassador car driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 07/03/2009 at 1600 hrs at Kalayi Ammunje village Bantwal Taluk one Moideen driver of Indica car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-C-1776 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which car capsized. As a result Kareem Saheb (50) R/o Urpelpade Karinja village Mangalore Taluk, Shekar Poojary, Vittal Ballal and Pradeep Ballal who were traveling in the said car sustained simple injuries.

On 08/03/2009 at 2300 hrs accused Abdul Riyaz @ Kunhi Monu, Ubedulla, Sanaulla, Shetty Iqbal and others forminin into an unlawfull assembly near mosque at Kelaginapete Bantwal Town and criminally stopped the car bearing Reg. No. KA-04-ME-3930 belonging to Surendra (29) R/o Bhandaryhithlu Bantwal Town and damaged car by pelting stones and soda bottle. They also tried to kill Prashanth by pelting stone on him owing to trivial issue.

On 08/03/2009 at 0100 hrs accused Malathi and other 4 to 5 persons forming into an unlawful assembly and criminally trespassed into the house belonging to one Sridhara (76) R/o Vaidyanatha Nagara Atthavara Mangalore and damaged the compound wall and house by breaking the windows glass and also gave life threat to him owing to civil dispute between them. Police apprehended him while he was selling near carstreet Shree Janardhana Swamy temple at Ujire village Belthangady Taluk. The worth of seized property is Rs. 50,000/.

- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 07/03/2009 at 2300 hrs one Shilpa D.S. (21) R/o Somavarpete Kodagu District accidentally fell down in her relatives house at Carstreet Mangalore. Further she was admitted Mangala Hospital at Mangalore where she was declared dead while under treatment on the same day. The death seems to be due to illness.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 08/03/2009 at 1515 hrs one Narayana Bhat (52) R/o Preethinagar Dharmasthala village Belthangady Taluk accidentally fell down at Ujire junction Belthangady Taluk. Further he was admitted Govt. Hospital at Belthangady where he was declared dead while under treatment on the same day. The death seems to be due to illness.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 30/12/2008 one unknown person aged about 75-80 years accidentally fell down near Gomateshwara statue at Dharmasthala village Belthangady Taluk. Further he was admitted Govt. Hospital at Belthangady where he was declared dead while under treatment on 08/03/2009 at 1330 hrs. The death seems to be due to illness.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Subramanya Police Station. In between 2300 hrs of 07/03/2009 and 0530 hrs of 08/03/2009 one Akku @ Anitha (40) R/o Pallodi Aivathoklu village Sullia Taluk committed suicide by hanging in her house owing to health problem.

- A case of Boy missing has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 07/03/2009 at 0830 hrs one Harsha G.M. (18) S/o. Dr. Sangameshwara R/o A-4, Doctors Quarters Ladygoshan hospital Mangalore went St. Aloysius College at Mangalore and did not return his house there after. He has been found missing since then.
