On 20/03/2009 at 1845 hrs at 1945 hrs a police team consisting of Subbapur Matt B.G PSI Belthangady PS along with staff on specific information conducted raid on a open place at Kuthrottu Layila village Belthangady Taluk. At the time of raid Police found 9 persons playing “Ander - Bahar” with cards. Police seized cash Rs. 4,750/ and playing cards from the spot by arresting Santhosh Rai (24), Praveen (28), Vishwanatha Moolya (40), Yashodhara (36), Bhanu Prakash (40), Pruthvi Ranjan Rao R (59), Booba Moolya (59), Kishore (45) and Ashok (40) who were indulging in gambling. However acuused one Prakash Bhat managed to escape from the scene.
In this connection, a case has been registered against the arrested persons in Belthangady PS U/s 87 of the Karnataka Police Act.
