- A case of Burglary has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 17/03/2009 at 0300 hrs accused one Guruva (28) R/o Kalkar Serve village Puttur Taluk gained entry into arecanut Godown belonging to one Ummarabba (36) at Muloor Kukkaje Savanoor village Puttur Taluk by breaking the door lock and committed theft of 2 bags of arecanuts. The total value of stolen property is yet to be estimated.

- A case of MV Theft has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. In between 1600 hrs and 1800 hrs of 15/03/2009 some unknown culprits committed theft of a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-W-7961 belonging to one Hemanth K. (24) R/o Janatha Colony Thalapady village Mangalore Taluk that was parked near Noor Masjid at Mangalore. The motorcycle is worth Rs. 39,000/.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 17/03/2009 at 1605 hrs near Hampanakatte at Mangalore one driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-9285 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-6129 driven by Raj Kumar Shetty R/o Mannagudde Mangalore. As a result car got damaged. No casualty reported.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 17/03/2009 at 1055 hrs at Handelu Putthige village Mangalore Taluk one Abbas driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-C-2019 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner due which one Jaya Bhandary (60) R/o Moodabidre Mangalore who was traveling in the said bus was thrown out of the bus and sustained simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 17/03/2009 at 1645 hrs near bus tand at Shanthinagara Mangalore one Jayanthi (60) R/o Garodi Kankanady Mangalore a passenger of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-C-2384 while getting down from the bus, the driver of bus moved the bus in a negligent manner due which she fell down from the bus and sustained simple injuries.

- A case under Rioting, Criminal trespass, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 16/03/2009 at 2045 hrs accused Addu @ Abdul Rahiman, Rasheed, Razak, Saleem and Azeez forming into an unlawful assembly and criminally trespassed into the premises of house belonging to one Mohammed P.K. (48) R/o Nandavara Sajipa Munoor village Bantwal Taluk and abused him filthy language and assaulted him with wooden stick owing to civil dispute between them.
- A case under Rioting, Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 17/03/2009 at 1545 hrs accused Baba, Dinesha and other 13 persons forming into unlawful assembly in front of Pragathi Hospital at Puttur Town and stopped the bus and abused Vishwas (19) R/o Manipal Udupi District, Roshan and Rishal in filthy language and assaulted them by hand and also gave life threat to them owing to trivial issue.

On 17/03/2009 at 2230 hrs accused Vijaya Prakash @ Pakku criminally trespassed into the house belonging to one Sumesh Kumar (25) R/o R/o Kumpala Mooru Katte Someshwara village Mangalore and abused him in filthy language and tried to outrage her modesty of his mother by pulling her hand and assaulted him by hand and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

On 10/03/2009 at 2000 hrs near accused one Rajeeva Kanchan (50) abused one Monappa Bangera (48) R/o near Meenakaliya Chanal, Baikampady Mangalore in filthy language referring to his caste near his house. The motive seems to be civil dispute between them.
- A case of Counterfeiting currency has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station on the complaint of Narayana K. Hegde, Branch Manager Vijaya Bank Bantwal Town where in it is alleged that on 28/10/2008 some unknown customers came to the Vijaya Bank and deposited cash. On checking, bank officials found a counterfeit currency of face value Rs. 500/.

- A case under NDPS Act has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 17/03/2009 at 1330 hrs on credible information PI Surathal PS along with staff arrested one Salam @ Hasan Salam (24) R/o Krishnapura 6th block Katipalla village Mangalore Taluk and seized 300 grams of Ganja (worth Rs. 10,000/) from his pocket. Police apprehended him while he was selling near 7th block at Katipalla village Mangalore Taluk.
