- A case under Attempt to theft has been registered in Moodabdire Police Station. On 17/05/2008 in between 1200 hrs and 1600 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the Post Office at Kallabettu village Mangalore Taluk by removing the roof tiles and attempted to commit theft.

On 27/04/2008 in between 0930 hrs and 1330 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of a Hero Honda Splendor motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-H-4715 belonging to one Lokesh K S. R/o Kujugodu village Sullia Taluk that was parked in front of Hotel at Taj Mahal Mangalore. The motorcycle is worth Rs. 15, 000/.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 16/05/2008 at 1400 hrs Kesargaddae Bannadka village Mangalore Taluk one Mudara rider of Bajaj M80 motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-20-J-4142 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Ramesha R/o Acharikatte Padumarnadu village Managlaore Taluk a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. On 16/05/2008 at 1000 hrs on Pejavara Kenjaru village Mangalore Taluk one Irshad M. H. driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-3410 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which auto rickshaw capsized. As a result Mariyamma (65) R/o Kapikadu Kenajaru village Mangalore Taluk, Rahamath and Mumtaz who were traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained grievous injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 17/05/2008 at 0430 hrs near Anughra school at Ujire village Belthangady Taluk one Revappa driver of Maruti Omni car bearing Reg. No. KA-27-5879 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which vehicle capsized. As a result Ujappa (48) R/o Siddapura Bhadravathi village Shimoga District, Roopa, Somashekarayya and Arun who were traveling in the said Maruti Omni sustained simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 16/05/2008 at 1430 hrs near Bolanthoor School Narikombu village Bantwal Taluk one Krishnappa Poojary driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-1600 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which auto rickshaw capsized. As a result Jagadish Sanil (20) R/o Narikombu village Bantwal Taluk who was traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained grievous injuries.

- A case under Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. On 15/05/2008 at 0930 hrs accused Jayarama Shetty and Rajesh Acharya criminally restrained one Naveen Mendoza (32) R/o Padpekela Thenkayekkar village Mangalore Taluk near his house and abused him in filthy language and also assaulted him with stone owing to civil dispute.
- A case under Criminal trespass, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 16/05/2008 at 1815 hrs accused Shivanna Gowda, Kushalappa Gowda, Nithesh and Lokesh criminally trespassed into the house belonging to Monappa Gowda (60) R/o Idyadi Savanoor village Puttur Taluk and assaulted him with wooden stick. They also assaulted his wife with wooden stick who came to help Monapa Gowda and also gave life threat to them owing civil dispute.
- A case under Criminal trespass, Criminal restraint, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 16/05/2008 at 2200 hrs accused Janardhana Poojary, Mahabala Gowda, Shivaprasada, Godfree all residents of Banjikodu Ivarnadu village Sullia Taluk criminally trespassed into the house belonging to Meenakshi B. (60) R/o Banjikodi Ivarnadu village Sullia Taluk and criminally restrained her son Prasantha and his friend Vasantha and assaulted them with wooden stick. They also assaulted Meenakshi with wooden stick and also gave life threat to them owing to trivial issue.

- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 17/05/2008 in between 1500 hrs and 2000 hrs one Yellappa (38) R/o Jyothi Nagar Kunjathbail Mangalore committed suicide by hanging in his house owing to health problem.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 17/05/2008 at 1700 hrs one Naveen Poojary R/o Dande Moodunadugodu village Bantwal Taluk attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison owing to personal problem. Futher he was admitted to to hospital were her declared dead while under treatment on the same day.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 17/05/2008 at 0630 hrs one Ammu (50) R/o Ashokanagara Dharmastala village Belthangady Taluk committed suicide by hanging near his house owing to health problem.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. In between 17/05/2008 at 2100 hrs and 17/05/2008 at 0500 hrs one Duggamma (40) R/o Munkottu house Kodimbala village Puttur Taluk committed suicide by hanging in her house owing to health problem.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 17/05/2008 in between 0700 hrs and 0715 hrs one Prakasha C.P. (22) R/o Koila Ivarnadu village Sullia Taluk committed suicide by consuming poison owing to financial problem.
