On 17/05/2008 in between 0600 hrs and 1900 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Charles D’Costa (33) R/o Konnepadavu Hosabettu village Mangalore Taluk by breaking the front door lock and committed theft of gold ornaments all in worth Rs. 24,000/.
- A case of Burglary has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. In between 17/05/2008 at 2200 hrs and 18/05/2008 at 0600 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Ben Sequeira (49) R/o Padpu house Vagga Kavalapadur village Bantwal Taluk by breaking the door lock and committed theft of 3 Copper Vessels (Hande) all in worth Rs. 8,000/.

- A case under Cruelty by husband and his relatives, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Criminal intimidation along with Dowry Prohibition Act has been registered in Vittal Police Station on the complaint of one Greshma Shetty (23) R/o Kallangala Keepu village Bantwal Taluk. In the complaint it is alleged that accused Harsha Shetty (30) (husband) and his relatives Karunakara Shetty (60) and Sharada Shetty (55) gave physical and mental harassment to one Greshma Shetty to bring more dowry and also gave life threat her.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 17/05/2008 at 1730 hrs at Bejai junction Mangalore one unknown Scorpio car driver drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-5356. Further auto rickshaw driver lost control over his vehicle due which auto rickshaw capsized. As a result auto rickshaw driver Prabhakara (50) R/o Konaje Mangalore and Nataraj who was traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained grievous injuries. The Scorpio car driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

On 08/05/2008 at 1540 hrs at Pandithhouse Permannur village Mangalore Taluk one Sudhir Poojary driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-3665 drove his in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-20-R-5698. As a result Rajesh motorcycle rider and Anil Poojary (28) R/o Subhasha Nagara Munnur village Mangalore Taluk pillion rider of said sustained simple injuries.

No. KA-19-AB-7799 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Jacob M.T. (51) R/o Panjimogeru Mangalore a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.

On 17/05/2008 at 1700 hrs on NH 48 at Thumbe village Bantwal Taluk one unknown Tempo driver drove his in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a scooter bearing Reg. No. KA-19-W-1949. As a result scooter rider Gopala Achary (49) R/o Balthila village Bantwal Taluk and Narayana Achary pillion rider of said scooter sustained grievous injuries.

No. KA-16-A-5208 drove his in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Tata Indigo car bearing Reg. No. MH-04-DB-5066 from behind driven by one Rathnakara Shetty (52) R/o Kuriyala village Bantwal Taluk. As a result car got damaged. No causalities reported.

On 17/05/2008 at 2030 hrs accused Majeed, Shafee, Basheer, Abbas, Iqbal, Farooq and others forming into unlawful assembly near Halady Mosque at Sajipa Munnur village Bantwal Taluk and criminally restrained one Abdulla (30) R/o Bollayee Sajipa Mooda village Bantwal Taluk and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and with iron rod. They also assaulted Ibrahim, Shafee and Cheriya Moonu by hand and iron rod who were came to help one Abdulla and also gave life threat to them owing to trivial issue.

- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 18/05/2008 at 1300 hrs one Laasar Dias (48) R/o Piligoodu Kailar Barya village Belthangady Taluk committed suicide by consuming poison in his house owing to personal problem.
