- A case under Hurt, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 16/07/2009 at 1900 hrs accused Chandu Naik, Monappa and Lalitha abused Lakshmi R/o Kantika house Balthila village Bantwal Taluk in filthy language and assaulted her with bottle in her house. They also assaulted Shoba, Vanitha and Ganesh who came to help Lakshmi with wooden stick and gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

- A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 16/07/2009 at 0945 hrs near Badaga Basadi Marpadi village Mangalore Taluk one Domenic driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-9654 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against an auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-498 due, which auto rickshaw, capsized. As a result auto rickshaw driver Chandrahasa (31) R/o Maroor village Bantwal Taluk, Shekabba and Narayan who were traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained serious injuries and admitted to hospital where in Shekhabba succumbed to his injuries on 17/07/2009 at 0530 hrs.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Traffic West Police Station. On 17/07/2009 at 1845 hrs in front of Infoysis at Urwa Mangalore one driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-AD-8714 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided one Mohandas (34) R/o Attavar Mangalore a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries. The bus driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 17/07/2009 at 0910 hrs near market at Surathkal Mangalore one unknown driver of Maruti Swift car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-9044 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a scooter bearing Reg. No. KA-19-W-4170. As a result scooter rider one Govinda Raju (42) R/o Shyagadadi village Shiraa Taluk Tumkur District sustained simple injuries. The car driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 16/07/2009 at 2035 hrs on NH 17 at Kaneerthota Someshwara village Mangalore one Sudheer driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KL-14-G-2779 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-X-607. As a result motorcycle rider Harishchandra (42) R/o Battagudde Bejai Mangalore and Nagesha pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.

On 16/07/2009 at 1900 hrs accused Padmanabha Naik, Chandrashekara, Parameshwara, Babu Naik, Vimala, Lalitha and another person criminally restrained one Rathnakara M (34) R/o Karambikote, Pambethadi village Sullia Taluk at Kolambala Chadavu Bellary village Sullia Taluk and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 17/07/2009 at 0730 hrs in bus stand at Dharmasthala at Belthangady Taluk one unknown person aged about 40 yrs to 45 yrs developed chest pain and died on the spot.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 17/07/2009 at 0930 hrs one Ganesh (16) R/o Ambadimoole Jalsur village Sullia Taluk accidentally slipped into a river near his house and died due drowning.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Subramanya Police Station. In between 1100 hrs and 1630 hrs of 17/07/2009 one Varijakshi (40) R/o Pandi Balpa village Sullia Taluk accidentally slipped into a pond while walking near her house and died due drowning.
