On the intervening night of 27-28/09/2006 some unknown culprits committed theft of 2.1 Kilo meters of electric cables worth Rs. 65,000/ which was kept at the premise of Mescom Godown at Kavoor Junction Marakada village Mangalore Taluk.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 24/09/2006 at 1900 hrs on NH 17 near Panambur Mangalore Taluk one unknown driver of Lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-19-1773 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Jeevan (06) R/o J.B. Road Kottara Chowki Mangalore Taluk a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries. The Lorry driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

On 27/09/2006 at 1500 hrs in front of Vidyarashmi high school Savanoor village Puttur Taluk one driver of KSRTC Bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-1784 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-J-1019. As a result motor cycle rider one Vasantha Krishna (25) R/o Tumbya house Kayimana village and pillion rider (his mother) Jayalaxmi (48) sustained grievous injuries.

As a result one Manjunatha driver of the said bus sustained simple injuries.

On 23/09/2006 at 2130 hrs one Thambi @ Samuwell (38) R/o Sullia Majalu Echalampady village consumed acid in his house owing to personal problems. He was admitted to Fr. Mullar hospital Mangalore where he was declared dead while under treatment on 27/09/2006 at 0430 hrs.
