- A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 18/05/2009 at 0600 hrs at Udane Shiradi village Puttur Taluk one Thotayya driver of KSRTC Volvo bus bearing Reg. No. KA-01-F-8338 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-01-A-1850 loaded with wooden Logs which was, parked at roadside. As result Santhosha, Varaprasad, Sathishchandra, Girish and Prabhatha Hegde who were traveling in the KSRTC bus sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. Further Ismail (22) R/o Sampya Ariyapu village Puttur Taluk and 15 to 20 passengers who were traveling the said bus sustained simple injuries.

No. KA-19-P-8179 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-W-1887. As a result one Sudhakra Shetty (29) R/o Pavoor village Kasaragod district Kerala State rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 17/05/2009 at 1130 hrs at Kethikal Vamanjoor Thiruvailu village Mangalore Taluk one Sameer driver of Maruti Alto car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-9200 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-8745. As a result Wilson Kiran rider of motorcycle and Suresh pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained grievous injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 17/05/2009 at 1330 hrs at Nisargadhamanagara Moodushedde Mangalore Taluk one Ramesh (57) passenger of the bus Reg. No. KA-19-B-5094 while getting down from the bus, the driver of bus moved the bus in a negligent manner due which he fell down from the bus and sustained simple injuries.

On 17/05/2009 at 1130 hrs near KSRTC bus stand at Puttur Town one Chandrashekara driver of KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2646 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed collided one K. Mahesh B.L. (21) R/o Kodaje Nettla Mudnoor village Bantwal Taluk a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 17/05/2009 at 1530 hrs on Belthangady-Guruvanakere road at Belthangady Town one Dharnappa Gowda rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-E-9681 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against one Shrinivas a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries. Further motorcycle rider lost control over his vehicle due which motorcycle capsized. As a result Uma pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.

On 17/05/2009 at 1740 hrs accused Osawald D Souza, Vincent D Souza and Darwin Lobo criminally restrained one Felix Kelvin D Souza (24) R/o Kudur Badakodi village Kulur Mangalore Taluk near Church road at Katipalla Mangalore Taluk and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand with punch (iron object) owing previous enmity.

On 16/05/2009 at 2030 hrs accused Saveera, Imthiyas and another one criminally restrained one Shurthish (18) R/o Netrakere Pudu village Bantwal Taluk near school at Nethrakere Kallige village Bantwal Taluk and abused him filthy language and assaulted him with wooden stick.

In between 0500 hrs and 0530 hrs of 17/05/2009 one Padmanabha (41) R/o Barke house Shabhur village Bantwal Taluk accidentally touched the electric wire near his house due which he got electrocuted and died on the spot.
