Murder Conspiracy Foiled : 6 Arrested

A conspiracy to murder a youth in Gurupura on the eve of election counting, by a group of six persons has been foiled by the DCIB team of the DK District Police after an intensive drive was conducted in view of the upcoming Election counting process and specifically in view of the information received that there were attempts to create disturbances during this period.


During the process of questioning a list of suspects, one of the gang members revealed a very shocking information about a murder plan being hatched to creat a law and order disturbance during election counting period. As soon as the team received the information, they plunged in to action picked up another member of the gang by name Vasantha (28) of Gurupura, he confessed the entire plan regarding the plot hatched eliminate one person of Gurupura with a view to create disturbances during the election counting and post counting period. A sword and a punch which they had kept ready to commit the offence was recovered from his house. On further interrogation he revealed the names of 5 others whom he arranged for the offence. All the five were immediately picked up and arrested. Their names are Madhusudan (24), Rakesh (22), Sharath (21), Vishwanath (22) and Ganesh (26) all of Gurupura.

The accused have now been booked for criminal conspiracy to commit murder and will be produced before the court.


If the offenders were successful in their task, it would have led to large scale law and order disturbances in the district which seems to be stalled now by the timely action of the teams.


Security has been beefed up in that area to prevent any untoward incident. Further information is being collected regarding any other persons or groups involvement in the plan.
