• A case under Rioting, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered Belthangady Police Station. On 18/05/2009 at 1115 hrs accused Lokesh Acharya, Shridhara Acharya, Prasantha Acharya, Pramod Acharya, Suresh Acharya, Seetharama Acharya, Jayarama, Harish Acharya, Vasantha Acharya, Jagadish, Jayarama and others forming into an unlawful assembly near Vishwakarma building at Basavanagudi Maladi village Belthangady Taluk and abused one Yogisha Acharya (30) R/o Ninnyaru Pilathabettu village Bantwal Taluk in filthy language and assaulted him and Kumara Naik with iron rod. The motive seems to be personal enmity between Yogisha Acharya and accused persons.
