- A case of theft has been registered in Subaramanya Police Station. On the night of 31/07/2006 some unknown culprits gained entry into the Forest Guest House at Kollamogaru village Subramanya by breaking the front door lock and stole brass and steel utensials worth Rs. 8,000/.

- A case of intent to outraging the modesty of woman (sec 354 IPC) has been registered in Puttur Rural Police Station. On 31/07/2006 at 1700 hrs one S.L.Rodrigues, Panchayath Secretary came to the residence of Sumathi (28) Thingalady Kedambady Puttur Taluk and asked her to cooperate with him for sanctioning the house site from Panchyath and there by tried to outrage her modesty.

- A case of Fatal accident has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 02/08/2006 at 0515 hrs at New Simla timber yard near NMPT RCHCW Quarters, Panambur one Prabhu the driver of lorry loaded with wooden Logs bearing Reg. No. HR-29-B-4899 while taking reverse of the vehicle drove negligently due which the wooden logs fell over one Rajkumar (25) a Loader. He was seriously injured and admitted to hospital where while undergoing treatment he died.

No. KA-19-F-2052 drove his vehicle in rash and negligent manner and dashed to one Prabharkara (65) a pedestrian who was crossing the road and caused simple injuries.

No. KA-19-A-3939 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Karunakara Pengal (73) R/o Katipalla a pedestrian and caused simple injuries.

On 01/08/2006 at 0930 hrs near Mundaje, Ujire Village Belthangady Taluk one Krishnanda rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-H-7046 drove his vehicle in rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Babu (50) of Ujire Belthandady a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mudabidre Police Station. On 31/07/2006 at 1930 hrs near Beluvai, Moodabidre one Moiddin Kunhi rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-L-9938 drove his vehicle in rash and negligent manner and dashed against Scooter bearing Reg.No KA-20-H-1645 due which the rider of the Scooter Hariprasad R/o Beluvai sustained simple injuries and the accused Moiddin Kunhi also got injured.

- A case of counterfeit currency has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 31/07/2006 one Sharavan c/o Rukmayadas Maruthi Contractor, Gandinagar, Sullia came to the Indus Ind Bank and deposited Rs. 39,800/ in cash to an account. On checking, Bank officials found 60 Nos. of Counterfeit currency of face value Rs. 500/ in the bundle. On enquiry Sharavan told that he has received the money from one Shashindran, Diamond Earth Movers, Podankallu, Kasaragod.
- A case under causing death due to negligence has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 01/08/2006 at 1530 hrs at Polya, Kabaka villge, Puttur Taluk, Ramesh who was working on the Electric Pole got electrocuted due to the negligence of Jemes Madtha the Contractor, and KEB Staff of Puttur.

- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. One Hanumantha, of Gadag district was found unconscious near Uppinangady Bus stand and was admitted to Govt. hospital Puttur. While on treatment he was declared dead. The cause of death seems to be excessive drinking.
