- A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 21/08/2006 at 0300 hrs on NH 48 near Paravara Kotiya Shiradi village Puttur Taluk one Dharmedra driver of car bearing Reg. No. KA-13-M-2793 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-01-C-5979 from behind. As a result Ananda (27) R/o Hassan district who was in the car sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. Other two passengers Srinivasa and Sathyamorthi and the driver of the car Dharmedra sustained serious injuries.

No KA-13-A-2000 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Maruti Van bearing Reg. No KA-19-N-3606 belonging to one Namitha D. Rao W/o Dinesh Rao R/o Mangalore due which the Maruti Van got damaged. No causalities reported.

As a result the motorcycle rider Yashavanth Prabhu (22) S/o Balakrishna Prabhu R/o Prabhu Nivas Shakthinagar Mangalore and pillion rider Sathyaprasad sustained grievous injuries.

As a result one Gresilla D’souza (11) D/o Gregory D’souza R/o Mudaibettu Nada Village Belthangady Taluk who was travelling in the auto sustained simple injuries.

On 21/08/2006 at 1600 hrs on NH 48 near Kutel Uppinangady Town Puttur Taluk one Jalil driver of a tempo bearing Reg. No. KA-21-8359 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner due which the vehicle capsized. As a result one Bhaskar (34) R/o Mura Uppinangady Town Puttur Taluk who was travelling in the Tempo sustained simple injuries.
