On the morning of 12/08/2006 PSI Bantwal Town PS Mr.Nagesh & staff on credible information conducted raid on an isolated house located at Benjina Padavu of Kallige village Bantwal Taluk and seized one arrack vending machine and other equipments used for the manufacture of arrack sachets illegally.

- Three bundles of plastic roll
- 15 empty Cans
- 6000 arrack sachets
- One big plastic drum
- One sintex empty tank
- Electric motor, pipes etc.
The total worth of property seized is estimated to be Rs.1,30,000/.
No person was found inside the home when the raid was conducted. In this connection a case in Bantwal Town PS has been taken up under the Karnataka Excise Act and further investigation is on. Police are ascertaining the ownership of the house and looking for persons operating this unit clandestinely.
