On the intervening night of 07-08/08/2006 some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Harishchandra Shettigar (40) R/o House No. 13/109 C/o M. Ranganatha Shenoy compound behind B.C.Road Bus Stand Bantwal Taluk by breaking the front door lock and stole one gold chain, cash Rs 60,00/ and other valuable documents from the Almerah all in worth Rs. 24,250/.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 30/07/2006 at 2030 hrs at Nehru Nagara Chikkamudnoor village Puttur Taluk one Raghu driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-4078 drove his vehicle in rash and negligent manner and lost control over due which it capsized. As a result one Ravichadara Acharya (44) who was passenger of the auto rickshaw sustained simple injuries.
