The Dakshina Kannada District Police Blog has been chosen for the egov Award for Innovation, 2006 by the egov magazine, which is the only monthly print publication on trends and practices in e-Government.
The award was presented today (23/08/2006) during the international conference on e-Governance being held at Delhi. SPDK Mr.B.Dayananda received the award on behalf of the district police which was handed over by Mr.Manishankar Aiyer Hon'ble Minister for Panchayat Raj and Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. The conference has been co-organized by the Department of Information Technology GOI and UNDP.
Eversince the DK Police blog was launched last year, it has been widely acclaimed worldwide as a very unique and novel effort to dessiminate police information to the press and public. Today it is a proud moment for DK Police as their effort has been formally recognized through this award.
On this occassion, the DK Police thanks all its blog viewers and well wishers both in India and abroad who have not only appreciated but also have given valuable suggestions and feedback from time to time.
