• A case under Attempt murder, cruelty by husband along with Dowry Prohibition Act has been registered in Mangalore North Police Sation on the complaint of one Rehmath Nawaz (19) w/o Amjad Navaz R/o Kudorli Mangalore. In the complaint it is alleged that accused Amjad Nawaz (husband) and relatives Anwar, Aslam, Ashraf, Raziya and Shahistha gave physical and mental harassment to Rehmath to bring more dowry and they also attempted to kill her by pushing into the well at her house on 16/08/2006 at 2100 hrs where in she got injured.

• A case under Rioting has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 19/08/2006 at 2130 hrs five unknown persons followed one Jodo Jerald Govias (35) R/o Selvador villa Urva Chilimbi, Mangalore at Mercury apartment Mangalore and forming into an unlawful assembly they assaulted him with iron rod and hammer and also gave life threat to him. After this they escaped in an auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-8268 and a motorcycle.

• A case of Hurt and Criminal restraint has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 18/08/2006 at 1830 hrs accused Sukirthi and Shrinath restrained one Shakeel Kotiyan (22) S/o Jayarama Anchan R/o Idya village Mangalore Taluk near his house and abused him in filthy language and also assaulted with a cricket Stump owing to personal dispute.

• A case under Prevention of cruelty to Animal Act and Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act along with Indian Motor Vehicle Act has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 19/08/2006 at 2200 hrs PSI Uppinangady PS and staff on credible information intercepted a goods Tempo bearing Reg. No. KL-14-6077 near Kolpe Mosque Konalu village and seized 10 cattle and 10 goats being transported illegally.
