• A case of Burglary has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 02/01/2008 in between 0830 hrs and 1745 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Gracy Monthero (44) R/o Thiruvail village Mangalore Taluk by breaking back door and committed theft of gold ornaments and cash all in worth Rs. 3,56,000/.

Fatal: 01

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 02/01/2008 at 1115 hrs on NH-48 at Kodyakallu Shirady village Puttur Taluk one Sharath (20) rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Q-2000 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which motorcycle capsized. As a result one Girish Poojary (25) pillion rider said motorcycle sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. The motorcycle rider Sharath also sustained simple injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Konaje Police Station. On 01/01/2008 at 1540 hrs at Deralakatte Belma village Mangalore Taluk one Praveen Kumar driver of car bearing Reg. No. TNV-5000 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Mohammed Thoufiq (10) a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries.

• A case under Rioting, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 02/01/2008 at 2030 hrs accused Haris, Muneer, Jaheer, Usman, Siyabuddin, Hameed and other persons forming into an unlawful assembly at Jayanagara Sullia Town and assaulted Siraj (25) R/o Gandhinagara Sullia Town, Riyaz and Ayeesha with iron rod and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

• A case under House trespass, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 02/01/2008 at 2030 hrs accused Rasheed and Siraj criminally trespassed into the house belonging to one Muneer Ahammed (35) R/o Halegetu Sullia Town and assaulted him and his relative Haris with wooden stick. They also assaulted Ameena by hand who came to help Muneer and also gave life threat to them owing to trivial issue.

• A case under NDPS Act has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 02/01/2008 at 1800 hrs Crime PSI Mangalore Rural PS seized Ganja (900 gms) worth Rs. 8,000/ by arresting Bharath, Mohammed and Atheem who were found selling Ganja at Pumpwell Mangalore.

Unnatural Death Report: 03

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 02/01/2008 at 1730 hrs one unknown male dead body aged about 25 yrs to 30 yrs was found at Gomateshwara Hill Dharmasthala village Belthangady Taluk. It seems to be a case of suicide by consuming poison.
• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 02/01/2008 at 1245 hrs one Anthappa Poojary (50) R/o Biliyoor village Bantwal Taluk accidentally fell down from a Palm tree near his house while removing toddy and got seriously injuries and died on spot.
• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 01/01/2008 at 1800 hrs one Kanthu @ Angara (40) R/o Golyadka Renjalady village Putttur Taluk committed suicide by consuming poison in his house owing to health problem.
