• A case under Servant theft has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. In between 20/01/2008 and 21/01/2008 at 0930 hrs one Chandra R/o Shimoga district who was working as a housemaid in the house of one Stepny Lobo R/o Mary Hill Derebail village Mangalore Taluk committed theft of gold ornaments from the same house. The stolen property is worth Rs. 1,00,000/.

• A case under Cruelty by husband and his relatives, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt, Criminal intimidation along with Dowry Prohibition Act has been registered in Ullal Police Station on the complaint of one Bifathima (38) W/o Abdul Azeez R/o Azadnagara Masthikatte Ullal Mangalore. In the complaint it is alleged that accused Abdul Azeez (husband) and his relatives Bifathima, Jameela and Azeez B. gave physical and mental harassment to Bifathima to bring more dowry and assaulted her by hand and they also gave life threat to her.

• A case under Cruelty by husband along with Abetment of suicide has been registered in Kavoor Police Station on the complaint of one Padmanabha (44) R/o Soora Navoor village Bantwal Taluk. In the complaint it is alleged that accused Ravi @ Sundara R/o Moodushedde Mangalore gave physical and mental harassment to one Umavathi @ Uma W/o Ravi @ Sundara R/o Shivanagara Moodushedde Mangalore to bring more dowry due to which on 20/01/2008 she was committed suicide by committed suicide by hanging in her house.

• A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 21/01/2008 at 1100 hrs accused one Bhaskara Poojary abused one Varija (54) W/o Devappa Poojary R/o Dhanupooje Ammunje village Bantwal Taluk in filthy language and assaulted her with sickle near her house. The motive seems to be to civil dispute between them.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 21/01/2008 at 0900 hrs at Clock Tower Mangalore one unknown rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Q-3569 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Khaza Bhasha (15) R/o Mangalore a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries. The motorcycle rider escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

• A case under Criminal trespass, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt, Mischief causing damage along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. On 21/01/2008 at 2100 hrs accused Basheer, Mohammed and Elias criminally trespassed into the premises of house belonging to Mohammed Sadhique R/o Suralpady Badagulippady village Mangalore Taluk and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and damaged house by breaking the window glass and also gave life threat to him. The motive seems to be that Mohammed Sadhiq had earlier lodged a complaint against Basheer, Mohammed and Elias in Bajpe Police Station.

• A case under Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. On 21/01/2008 at 2100 hrs accused Mohammed Sadhique and Abdul Azeez criminally retained one Mohammed Elias (56) R/o Suralpady Badagulippady village Mangalore Taluk near his house and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

• A case under Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 18/01/2008 at 0900 hrs accused Sridhara Gowda, Victor D’ Cunha and Sridhara Gowda criminally retained one Ramesh Poojary at Sudegundi Nada village Belthangady Taluk and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand owing to trivial issue.

• A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. On 21/01/2008 at 2030 hrs on credible information PSI Bajpe PS along with staff conducted a raid on open place near Palke Bus stand at Badagayadapadavu village Mangalore Taluk and seized 24 liquor bottles (each 180 ML) of worth Rs.750/ by arresting one Rukkayya Shetty who was selling these liquor bottles illegally there.

Unnatural Death Report: 02

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. In between 19/01/2008 at 1000 hrs and 21/01/2008 at 1530 hrs one Karunakara R/o Balike Adyaru village Mangalore Taluk accidentally slipped into the Nethravathi river at Adyaru village Mangalore Taluk while taking bath and died due to drowning.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 12/01/2008 at 1200 one Damodhara Poojary (42) R/o Kavoor Mangalore attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison in his house owing to personal problem. Further Damodhara Poojary was admitted to Wenlock Hospital at Mangalore where he declared dead while under treatment on 21/01/2008 at 1015 hrs.
