The following are the crimes reported in D. K. District during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 03/10/2009.

Robbery: 01
  • A case under Robbery has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 01/10/2009 at 2200 hrs one Nagaraja was his way to Hiriyoor in a Lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-44-1348. At the time four unknown persons came in two motorcycles and stopped his lorry at Dasakodi Kalladka village Bantwal Taluk and thrown chilli powder on him and Mohan Kumar cleaner of said lorry and assaulted them by hand and took a lorry from their possession. The total value of property taken away is estimated to be Rs. 10,10,000/.


Burglary: 01

  • A case of Burglary has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. In between 01/10/2009 and 0400 hrs of 02/10/2009 some unknown culprits gained entry into the Sri Mahadevi temple at Kabaka Puttur Taluk by breaking the back door and committed a theft of gold ornaments, silver ornaments and cash Rs. 1,000/ all in worth Rs. 10,600/.

  • A case under Criminal trespass, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Mischief causing damage has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 30/09/2009 at 1900 hrs accused Putta Malekudia, Vasantha and Mohan criminally trespassed into the land belonging to one Agnes Verges (55) R/o Majalu Vodilnala village Belthangady Taluk and abused her in filthy language and damaged the rubber trees and also gave life threat to her owing to civil dispute.

  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Traffic East Police Station. On 01/10/2009 at 1030 hrs at Marnamikatte Mangalore one driver of Auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-5402 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-U-2610. As result motorcycle rider one Vazeer Ahammad (33) R/o Hoige Bazar Mangalore sustained simple injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Traffic East Police Station. On 01/10/2009 at 1805 hrs at Hampankatte Mangalore one Ravi driver of Bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-9373 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-W-4934. As result motorcycle rider one Annappa (33) R/o Perade Manjanady Mangalore sustained simple injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Konaje Police Station. On 30/09/2009 at 2030 hrs one Mohammed Afeez rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-X-5777 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against one Mohammed Nazeer a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries. Further motorcycle rider lost control over the vehicle due which motorcycle capsized. As a result one Iqbal (22) R/o Iravillage Bantwal Taluk pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained grievous injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 02/10/2009 at 1750 hrs at Paladka Aletti Sullia Taluk one Krishna Prasad driver of car bearing Reg. No. KA-09-P-5580 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a bus bearing Reg. No. KA-55-1018 driven by Mubeen Ahammad (30) R/o Mysore District. As result two people who were traveling in the said car sustained simple injuries.

  • A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. On 27/09/2009 at 2000 hrs accused one Lokesha abused one Vikesh Kumar (29) R/o Alike Ganjimat Mangalore in filthy language near his house and assaulted him with knife and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.
  • A case under House trespass, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt, Criminal intimidation along with SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 01/10/2009 at 1500 hrs accused one Rama Madiwala criminally trespassed into the house belonging to one Kotayya Parava R/o Kosubettu Pilimogru village Bantwal Taluk abused him in filthy language referring to his caste and assaulted him by hand and also gave life threat to them owing to trivial issue.

  • A case of Gambling under Karnataka Police Act has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 02/10/2009 at 1400 hrs on credible information Prob. DySP, CPI Panambur Circle, PSI L&O Mangalore Rural PS along with staff conducted a raid on a open place at Meenakalia at Panambur Mangalore Taluk. At the time of raid Police found 30 persons playing “Ander- Bahar” with cards. The Police seized cash Rs. 12,500/, mobile, watch and playing cards from the spot by arresting Nikas D’Souza, Murugesh, Ramakrishna Shetty, Nagesh, Krishnappa, Mahammad Ansar, Gopalakrishna, Shivarama, Shrirama, Usman, Ronald D’Souza, Shiva, Shankar Amin, Sulaiman, Maruthi, Abubakkar, Gyavin Lobo, Pradeep, Mallappa, Pandu, Ramesh, Basavaraja, Parvatha Gowda, Shekappa, Hanumantha, Hasangi, Narayana Moily, Suresh, Balakrishna and Rafiq who were indulged in gambling.
  • A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 02/10/2009 at 2145 hrs on credible information PI Puttur Town PS along with staff conducted a raid on a open place at Anaje Narimogru village Puttur Taluk and seized 24 liquor bottles (each 180 ML) of worth Rs. 950/ and cash Rs. 120/ by arresting Vasantha R/o Anaje Narimogru village Puttur Taluk.

Unnatural Death Report: 01

  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Ullal Police Station. In between 1830 hrs of 30/09/2009 and 0800 hrs of 01/10/2009 one Suresh Kulal (45) R/o Adkagutthu Kotekar village Mangalore Taluk found dead in his rented house. The death seems to be due to some illness.
