In between 2230 hrs and 2300 hrs of 08/10/2009 at Ramalkatte Thumbe village Bantwal Taluk one Saroja (30) R/o Ramalkatte Thumbe village Bantwal Taluk killed her child Shravya (02) by throwing them into well and she also committed suicide by jumping into the same well. The motive seems to be some personal problem.

In between 1130 hrs and 1330 hrs of 10/10/2009 some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Shobha V Shetty R/o Urundadigudde Panjimogeru Mangalore by breaking the door lock and committed a theft of gold ornaments and cash Rs. 40,000/ all in worth Rs. 1,40,000/.
- A case of Burglary has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On the night of 09/10/2009 at some unknown culprits gained entry into Seetharama Temple at Bantwal town by removing the roof tiles and committed theft of Gold, Silver ornaments and also pooja articles. The worth of stolen property is yet to be estimated.
- A case of Burglary has been registered in Venoor Police Station. In between 0800 hrs and 1500 hrs of 10/10/2009 some unknown culprits gained entry into Sri Adinatha Swamy Basadi at Aladangady Belthangady Taluk by breaking the door lock and committed theft Panchaloha idols and other articles. The worth of stolen property is yet to be estimated.

No. KA-30-6920 belonging to one Parashurama (27) R/o Marakada Mangalore that was parked at Alvaris and Thomas Yard at Panambur Mangalore. The Tipper lorry is worth Rs. 7,95,000/.

- A case of Fatal road accident has been registered in Traffic East Police Station. On 09/10/2009 at 1245 hrs on NH 17 at Barebail Mangalore one Olwyn D Souza driver of new Tempo 407 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-V-1732. As a result motorcycle rider Vishwanatha and pillion rider Usha w/o Sathish R/o Kadri Chilimbi Mangalore sustained serious injuries. Further they admitted to A. J Hospital Mangalore. Where in Vishwantah succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on same day at 1340 hrs.
- A case of Fatal road accident has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 10/10/2009 at 1245 hrs on NH 17 in front of J. B Petrol Bunk at Panambur Mangalore one unknown driver of Lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-12-A-1225 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a Tempo Trax bearing Reg. No. KA-19-C-4739 driven by one Chinnaya K. As a result Sunil Mandal (37), Hakeem Mandal, Molin Mandal, Pasanjil Mandal, Dharam Mandal, Ramcharan Mandal, Gowra Mandal, Roopala Mandal and Ravi Mandal all residence of Jiyaganj Taluk Mursidabad District West Bengal State who were traveling in the said tempo trax sustained serious injuries and admitted to A. J Hospital Mangalore. Where in Hakeem Mandal and Molin Mandal succumbed to their injuries while under treatment on same day. The Lorry driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
- A case of Fatal road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 10/10/2009 at 1030 hrs on NH 13 at Gandhinagar Marpady village one Prasad driver of Bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-C-1840 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against one Harinakshi a pedestrian and caused her serious injuries. Further she succumbed to her injuries while in the way to hospital.

As a result the car got damaged. No causalities reported.

No. KA-21-P-9110 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against one Muneer a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries.

No. KA-21-A-2842 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against another Auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-A-2842. As a result Santhappa Moolya who was traveling in the Auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-A-2842 sustained simple injuries.

- A case under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 10/10/2009 at 2030 hrs on credible information PI Mangalore North PS along with his staff conducted raid on Siddhartha Lodge Balmatta road Mangalore and arrested Utthayya (40), Shridhara (37), RaviShankara ( 30), Razak (40), Shrikanth (26), Rajesh (39), Monanat (27), Lakshmi (35), Reshma (25), Roopa (32), Priya (20), Shanthi (26), Reshma (24), Rekha (25) and Roopali Biswas (25) who were soliciting for prostitution there.

- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 09/10/2009 at 1430 hrs one Ramachandra Holla R/o Madhur was found dead at Shop near Gandhi nagar Kunjathbail Mangalore. The death seems to be due to heavy drunkenness.
